MA International Business Management

The aim of this programme is to develop highly skilled professionals with strong leadership capacity with the business management skills to lead existing businesses and organisations and/or start new entrepreneurial ventures.

 

The programme consists of the following modules/courses:

  • Leadership and Management: Theory and Practice
  • Technology and Change in a Global Context
  • International Business Environment
  • Strategic Financial Management and Business Model Development
  • International Business Marketing
  • Strategic Human Resource Management and Organisational Development
  • Research Methods
  • Graduate Thesis
     

Those who graduate with an MA International Business Management are expected to be able to:

  • establish, manage and develop new and existing business organisations, of any size and in any context – local, national or international;
  • apply the leadership and management capacity (knowledge, skills and attributes) to positions with significant levels of responsibility in a wide range of business, public sector or not-for-profit contexts;
  • undertake applied research projects to identify and effectively pursue new business opportunities and to solve problems in existing business and other organisations;
  • provide consultancy and training in business management;
  • make a positive contribution in wider society through creating organisational and societal transformation and change.

MA Governance and Public Service Management

The aim of this programme is to develop highly skilled professionals with strong leadership capacity who will contribute to the development of good governance and excellence in public service management.

 

The programme consists of the following modules/courses:

  • Leadership and Management: Theory and Practice
  • Technology and Change in a Global Context
  • Societal Contexts, Cultures and Markets
  • Economic Strategy: Macro and Micro
  • Good Governance
  • Transforming Public Services
  • Research Methods
  • Graduate Thesis


Those who graduate with an MA Governance and Public Service Management are expected to be able to:

  • analyse evidence from a range of sources and use this as the basis for informing the development of public policy, good governance and excellence in the management of public services;
  • undertake applied research projects with a focus on analysing and solving real-world problems;
  • develop public policy and design practical solutions that will address key challenges and take advantage of important opportunities across a range of policy areas;
  • undertake leadership and management roles with significant levels of responsibility in a context of the student’s choosing – government, business or non-profit / non-governmental organisations (NGOs);
  • provide consultancy and training in good governance and the leadership, management and delivery of public services;
  • participate in policy formulation, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with other professionals;
  • make a positive contribution in wider society through creating social and institutional transformation and change.
